WELCOME

The purpose of this site is to provide reading material and links to other web sites that will encourage and strengthen you in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have not entered into the joy of a new life in Christ, then the place for you to begin is by understanding what the Gospel ("glad tidings") is, and accepting it in simple faith. The link below is a good place to start:

If you are already a Christian, then there is much here for you in the way of Bible studies, commentaries, and articles. Please do spend some time reading and visiting the links.

The theme of this site is the Bridegroom, a reference that is made to the Lord Jesus Christ several times in the New Testament. Whether you are a new Christian or a long-time believer, you must be aware that the Christian faith is about a person, and not about "religion". That person is our Heavenly Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. The true Church, which is made up of all believers in Him, is His Heavenly Bride. We are His chosen companion for all eternity, and His great love for us is without measure, and without comparison.

The Lord Jesus Christ very clearly stated that He would return soon (Rev 22:7,12,20). We are to expect His return at any moment (1 Thess 4:15-18). In fact, we are to await it with joy and put off all the trappings of this world in order to be prepared for His soon return for us.

Sadly, many Christians today have fallen asleep, and are busy about the day to day cares and affairs of this world. This condition is most clearly represented in our Lord's parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13). The five wise virgins represent true believers, and the five foolish virgins represent Christendom in general (those that profess faith in Christ but truly have no relationship with Him).

Paul, speaking about the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ exhorts us to be watchful and awaiting that day, not sleeping as others do, but eagerly awaiting God's Son from Heaven (1 Thess 1:10;5:4-10).

Are you ready for the Bridegroom's return? Are you looking forward to that day? Will it be today?

The links below provide some excellent writings related to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His bride. I hope you find them encouraging:

TODAY'S BIBLE VERSE

NOTABLE QUOTE

"The prodigal son entering the Father's house shows out the nature of our salvation. It is not simply for my benefit that I am there, but God has a delight in having me there...Love delights to have me in its company. If man's need were the measure of Christ's work, human joys would suffice; but, when divine love is the measure, the Father's house and the joys there are alone sufficient. It is the Father's pleasure that His house should be filled."

BIBLE FACTS

Were Sodom and Gomorrha the only cities destroyed in Genesis 19?

No. From the Biblical account it appears that there were actually four cities destroyed: Sodom, Gomorrha, Admah, and Zeboiim.

(see Deu 29:23; Jer 49:18,50:40)

There were five "cities of the plain": Sodom, Gomorrha, Admah, Zeboiim and Zoar (Gen 14). Zoar was not destroyed with the other four because Lot fled to that city.

(see Gen 19:18-25).
